Eligibility Criteria
- Project Associate-I (Area-I): M.Sc. (Ag.) in Agronomy / Horticulture / Soil Science / Agricultural Chemistry or M.Sc. in Botany / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology.
- Project Associate-II (Area-I): Same qualification as Project Associate-I in Area-I with 2 years R&D experience.
- Project Scientist-I (Area-I): Ph.D. in Agronomy / Horticulture / Soil Science / Agricultural Chemistry / Botany / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biosciences with 4 years experience in R&D / academic / scientific organizations.
- Data Entry Operator (Area-I): Graduate in Science from a recognized University with one year relevant experience and good knowledge of computing, data entry and Microsoft software.
- Project Associate-I (Area-II): M.Sc. in Botany / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Environmental Science / Plant Science / Life Sciences (Ecology & Evolution) or Masters / Integrated Masters in Biological Sciences with experience in lichens, algae and DNA sequence data analysis desirable.
- Project Associate-I (Area-III): M.Sc. in Botany / Biotechnology / Biochemistry with experience in molecular biology and plant tissue culture techniques desirable.
- Upper age limit: 35 years for Project Associate-I / II and Project Scientist-I; 30 years for Data Entry Operator.
- Age relaxation: 5 years for SC / ST / PwBD / Women, 3 years for OBC candidates.

- Project Associate-I / II (all Areas): Maximum 35 years.
- Project Scientist-I: Maximum 35 years.
- Data Entry Operator: Maximum 30 years.
- Relaxation in upper age limit: 5 years for SC / ST / PwBD / Women; 3 years for OBC candidates.
Salary/Stipend
- Project Associate-I (all Areas): Rs. 31,000/- + HRA per month for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET including lectureship / assistant professorship or GATE or equivalent National level examinations; Rs. 25,000/- + HRA per month for others.
- Project Associate-II (Area-I): Rs. 35,000/- + HRA per month for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET including lectureship / assistant professorship or GATE or equivalent National level examinations; Rs. 28,000/- + HRA per month for others.
- Project Scientist-I (Area-I): Rs. 56,000/- + HRA per month with 5% increment for every 2 years of experience in the same project.
- Data Entry Operator (Area-I): Rs. 16,000/- per month (consolidated).
- HRA will be admissible as per sanction of the respective projects.
Selection Process
- Selection through interview for all posts.
- If a large number of candidates appear, a screening test with multiple-choice objective questions may be conducted for shortlisting.
- Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Committee and a panel of recommended candidates will be prepared.
- Candidates can interact in Hindi or English before the committee.
- If many candidates report, interviews may continue on the next day.

- Eligible and interested candidates must appear directly for walk-in interview on the scheduled dates and time.
- Application form will be provided at the venue on the date of walk-in interview; candidates may also download it in advance from www.nbri.res.in.
- Candidates should bring one latest photograph, original documents and self-attested copies of certificates of all examinations passed starting from matriculation.
- Candidates must also bring certificates indicating date of birth and experience certificates, if any.
- Tentative mark sheets, provisional certificates and “result awaited” will not be accepted.
- All eligible candidates should report at the venue one hour before the scheduled time for document verification.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Instructions
- Engagement is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, subject to satisfactory progress and availability of funds.
- Total tenure of project staff in CSIR projects should not exceed 6 years; in certain short-duration consultancy / sponsored projects, total engagement may extend up to 7 years.
- Candidates must convert CGPA / SGPA / OGPA into percentage as per their University / Institute formula, wherever applicable.
- Number of positions may vary at the time of selection.
- Director, CSIR-NBRI reserves the right to cancel or modify the vacancy / recruitment / selection process without notice.
- Canvassing in any form or bringing outside influence will lead to disqualification.
- If it is found at any stage that the candidate is ineligible, his/her engagement is liable to be terminated immediately.
- Only candidates who fully meet the eligibility criteria and possess the required degree / mark sheets should appear for the interview.
- No interim queries will be entertained.
